How do I apply for a loan with Oxford Finance?

You can apply online, or call us on 0800 88 44 66. You’ll need to have some information handy, like your drivers licence and income & expenses.

Is there a minimum loan amount?

Yes, $2,000.

What is the minimum age?

21 years old (unless accompanied by a parent co-borrower).

How long are the loan terms?

Oxford Finance’s terms are flexible, ranging from 12 months to 60 months depending on the age and nature of the security you can provide us for the loan.

How long will it take for my Oxford Finance loan application to be approved?

Approximately one business day once Oxford Finance have received all relevant information from you.

How is the interest rate calculated?

The interest rate you will be charged is based on:

  • The type of security provided
  • The value of the security in relation to the loan amount
  • Your previous credit history with other financial institutions
  • Your credit profile and personal profile

What kind of security do Oxford Finance need for my loan?

Security will usually be a vehicle, boat, registered mortgage or an ‘agreement to mortgage’, supported by a caveat lodged over the title of your property, if you own a house.

What is a guarantor?

In general, business loans will require a guarantor. The guarantor needs to be aware that they are jointly and severally liable. In the case of a default on the the loan, they can be called upon to repay the amount outstanding.

Can I get approval for a loan before I’ve found the vehicle or boat I want?

Yes, pre-approval can be given as long as the vehicle or boat that you want fits the criteria for a loan.

How long will my pre-approval last?

A pre-approval remains current for 14 days.

Does my vehicle have to be insured?

Yes, your vehicle needs to be insured against theft and accident damage, and Oxford Finance need to be noted on the policy. We can help you to arrange insurance.

How do I repay my loan?

Repayments can be made by direct debit from your nominated bank account. If you’d like to make an additional payment to your loan, visit any BNZ branch or via online banking using the account details below. Please include your Oxford Finance loan number as the reference:
